Therapeutic Massage

Tailored bodywork experience for each client. A quick check in to discuss any issues that you’d like to focus on and how you are feeling in your body that day. Therapeutic massage uses a combination of modalities to give you what you need, from deep tissue, circulatory, myofascial release, reiki energy work, trigger point therapy, reflexology and more! I use my intuitive skills and experienced hands to support you.

Deep Tissue Massage

Relieves specific problem areas, tired sore muscles and eases out deep tension, especially useful for untangling knotted muscles and chronically tense areas such as sore shoulders, leg pain, stiff neck, low back and hip tightness. A deep tissue massage concentrates on the deeper layers of muscle and fascia in the body and includes some of the same massage strokes as a Swedish massage however the movement is slower and deeper on areas of tension and pain. I use my fingertips, hands, knuckles, elbows and forearms and I will ask you to breathe deeply on certain tense areas. Oxygenating the muscles will help the massage to do its work and ease discomfort.

Swedish Massage

Releases muscular and emotional tension and induces deep relaxation. Dependent upon your needs the massage can be relaxing, uplifting, or invigorating and along with lifestyle and aftercare advice the Holistic approach to massage is a great way to help keep you in control of your own health, reducing stress levels and improving general health and well-being.

Myofascial Release

A highly effective therapy for helping to eliminate pain and tension from problem areas in the body. Gentle pressure and specialized stretching techniques are used to release areas of blockages and tension in the muscles allowing them to move more freely to provide maximum attention to the intricate network of fascia. Fascia is the soft tissue that covers all the organs of the body and every fibre within each muscle. When muscle fibres are injured, the fibres and fascia become tight and cause stress on fascia to other parts of the body, causing inflammation and pain that can cause a variety of symptoms. It can also hold on to memories, emotions, and traumas from all types of injuries. Myofascial Release can support your long-term healing with old injuries as well as quicken the healing and recovery time with new injuries. You may seek treatment if you suffer from pain in any area of the body such as on going back, neck, shoulder, or hip pain.

Aromatherapy Massage

Relaxing and detoxifying massage using fragrant oils to bring balance and harmony back to body, spirit, and emotions. Each treatment is professionally tailored, with your particular health conditions in mind. Aromatherapy, or essential oils therapy, is using a plants aroma-producing oils (essential oils) to reduce stress, alleviate pain, help the body detoxify, and a variety of other effects, depending on the essential oil. Essential oils are taken from a plant’s flowers, leaves, stalks, bark, rind, or roots.

Aches and pains soothed away, less swelling and puffiness are just some of the benefits. Circulation support, reducing pelvic pain, stress reduction all helps Mother and baby prepare for an easier transition through labour, birth and postpartum.
